Karaoke Technology

Karaoke technology has come a long way in a short time. It seems only yesterday that we were there trying to erase the lyrics or sing over them on our regular CDs (or maybe the older ones amongst us can remember vinyl, or, god forbid the cassette tape).
The evolution took us through the Karaoke CDG, a wonderful CD with an extra track that allowed graphics to show up on a television. Unfortunately this technology was hampered by the reluctance of the conglomerate music publishing houses to embrace Karaoke forcing the karaoke enthusiast to sing along to the sub-standard accompaniments that were, so often outsourced to third world countries to recreate on electronic keyboards and backgrounded to something resembling a Joan Jett contrasted backdrop.
Today we can take advantage of so many different technologies to enjoy our favorite pastime…. Sing On!!
